Alicia & Omar’s Gatsby Dream at Half Moon.
Sixteen years ago, I met Omar at his brother’s wedding at the stunning Half Moon Luxury Resort in Jamaica. In the middle of all the laughter and celebration, he told me something I’ll never forget: “When it’s my time to get married, I’ll give you a call.” True to his word, after years of building a beautiful love story with Alicia, Omar kept his promise. The moment he proposed, I got that long-awaited call — and just like that, we came full circle. What an honor to capture not just a wedding, but the fulfillment of a promise made 16 years ago.
From the very start, this celebration was designed to dazzle. A Gatsby-themed wedding with 200 guests, dripping in gold, ivory, rose gold, and champagne. Every detail spoke of elegance, grandeur, and timeless romance. Alicia’s custom gown was nothing short of breathtaking, and Omar, with bespoke suit designer Carlton Brown by his side, looked every bit the leading man of this love story.
Their first-look unfolded beneath what looked like rain clouds, but Alicia and Omar steadfast in their love, didn’t even seem to notice. Those overcast skies gave us the most beautifully soft diffused light, dreamy tones, wrapping them in a soft glow that was pure perfection.
As guests gathered for the ceremony, the anticipation built. Alicia made her grand entrance to Whitney Houston’s “I Look to You,” the air was charged with emotion. Guests leaned in as distant thunder rolled across the sky, and when the couple sealed their vows with a kiss, light raindrops fell in between the confetti filled air — a gentle blessing from above. It was as if the heavens themselves were celebrating their union.
The celebration that followed was something you don’t see very often. Guests stepped into a Gatsby themed ballroom. Breathtaking lush florals, a massive dance floor, and a stage set for unforgettable performances. Between emotional first dances, and heartfelt speeches, guests were treated to the electrifying Ashe dance group, the soulful sounds of Dean Fraser, and a show-stopping set from Taurus Riley. The night unfolded in waves of joy, music, and love, a true celebration that was worth every moment of the wait.
